I found cashew apples at the market this morning. P46 per kilo. How much is a kilo of roasted cashews, I wonder? Whatever its cost, it isn't enough. It can't be. Each apple comes with just one cashew nut hanging from its bottom. Isn't that just mind-blowing? In India and Brazil, people consume the whole fruit, making jam, wine, or juice, but as far as I know, we don't typically eat them in the Philippines. I sliced open and tasted one, with salt. It wasn't bad; it wasn't good.
I probably won't be eating the rest of them.
